THE RALLIES 2007:

Welcome to the awesome Indian Autorickshaw Challenges (IndianARC) 2007! Coming up are two amazing competitions, The Mumbai Express Rally 2007 and The New Years Classic Rally 2007. These challenges involve India’s famous auto rickshaws and the only one of its kind anywhere in the world! A hundred teams per event from around the world will venture across and through southern India in a stream of rickshaw vehicles of varying functionality. It could be easy for some and a very tough challenge for others but for all, it will be an unforgettable and enjoyable adventure!

The auto rickshaws have great gas mileage and are small-sized, making it the ideal vehicle for the urban streets of Mumbai and Chennai as well as the rural country sides of traditional India. Although, the autorickshaw is a sort of national vehicle for India it is highly uncommon for an auto rickshaw to travel great distances at relatively high speeds. This makes the IndianARC rally not only avant-garde but truly inimitable. Along with providing auto rickshaws for the rally, the Indian Autorickshaw Challenge team will go the extra step and “Pimp Your Shaw,” an idea based on MTV’s “Pimp My Ride.” Throughout the rally, amazing and customized auto rickshaw vehicles will be driven by adventurous travelers in a high adrenaline race to reach their destinations on time!

The IndianARC Mumbai Express Rally 2007 will start August 5th 2007 in Chennai and end August 17th 2007 in Mumbai. The rally will stretch for nearly 1921 km (1191 miles) over a span of 13 days. Each night after the race there will be a Night Party. Contestants will spend days and nights exploring the Indian landscape, culture, food, nightlife, and scenery while rushing in a rickshaw at a top speed of 80 kilometers (50 miles) per hour. Reaching the finish line will be the main challenge, but along the way, the IndianARC team has set up and identified various locations of point value that will be used to determine the winner of the race which will be the the team with the most points. This will require strategy, tactical thinking, and a sense of adventure! As a combination of a scavenger hunt and a race against time, the IndianARC will provide more than just a journey. It will provide a game and the amazing opportunity to participate rather than witness.

The IndianARC Classic Rally 2007 will begin December 31st in colorful Chennai and will finish January 8th 2008 in Kanniyakumari. The race will expand across the 975 kilometers (582 miles) of lush and tropical south India. The Autorickshaw Challenge will follow a route through Tamil Nadu in Southeastern India. The auto rickshaws will traverse a wide multitude of untamed roads and speed dramatically through the changing weather conditions of India’s mysterious countryside.

Organized by the same team that brought you the hugely popular Budapest-Bamako Rally and in a fashion similar to that of the Paris-Dakar Rally, the Indian Autorickshaw Challenges are guaranteed to become wildly popular annual events. As adventure tourism is making its entrance into popular culture, people are looking for outings and experiences outside of the well-known historical landmarks and museums, over-populated shores and landscapes. The emerging trend is a live-for-the-moment spirit that makes the Indian Autorickshaw Challenge a hot, new semi-extreme sport. This is an event guaranteed to attract the brave, free spirited, intrepid people of the world who see an unforgettable and perhaps life-changing experience.

Every night of the rally event will feature a party. Every opening day will be presented and started by a well-known figure of the start day’s location. Every day of the rally will offer unforgettable and unique experiences as new friends will be made and new accomplishments will be achieved. As the only rally of its kind anywhere in the world, the Indian Autorickshaw Challenge 2007 is an event that promises to be everything a worthwhile and exciting adventure should be.
