ADOPT-A-VILLAGE :
The IndianARC rallies scheduled for December 2007 has a greater vision for Indian children in rural areas. IndianARC's charity objective for 2007 is Adopt-A-Village. Every team will be assigned a specific village two months before the event starts. In the course of the rally each team aiming for the Championship will visit that village along the route and provide medicine, toys, school supplies, or whatever other items are of importance to the team's village. Teams will have an opportunity to consult with the community leaders of that village months in advance, to discover what particular resources the village most badly needs.
In their strict and detailed attention to India, the organizers of the Indian Auto Rickshaw Challenge have taken a specific notice of the lack of good education, low literacy levels, and the high percentage of child labour that affects the Indian society. They have organized sponsorship levels and allocated all event profits to this worthy cause that makes it all possible. This year the organizers had taken it to another level by involving the participants directly to this cause so that apart from having fun and adventure, a simple and noble cause is achieved. The organizers of the Indian Auto Rickshaw Challenge hope that the ultimate winners of the next historic rally will be the children of India.

NOTE FOR PARTICIPANTS: You must meet the village headman or elders before you distribute your gifts. Each village will be notified in advance about your arrival. An overseeing committee member will accompany the teams visit. Their job will be to award points to the teams, based on the level interaction and services done by the participants to the children in the villages. Any team with aspirations of becoming the Indian Autorickshaw Challenge Champions will need the significant amount of points this task represents.
The physical materials the participants are able to bring is naturally limited by the modest capacity of the noble Tuk-Tuk itself. Teams are instead encouraged to spend some months leading up to the event engaged in fund raising activities, to raise more portable resources to donate to the villages. A donation of around £1,500 is encouraged, as this amount will have permanent effects on the standard of living through your entire allocated settlement. We hope that you will remain in contact with your allocated village, so you can learn how your contribution changes the lives of children for years to come. We are happy and proud to promote better education and reading programs and gladly support any organization that works to eradicate child labour. If you'd like to participate in this amazing event to support the improvement of India's future, we'd certainly love to have you join the event and will do all we can to help you prepare for this amazing adventure in 2007!
